I'm an assistant professor of photography at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Originally from Michigan, I earned an MFA degree in Photography and Related Media from Purdue University in Indiana. Shortly thereafter, I relocated to Turkey and taught at Sabanci University in Istanbul. I have been a visiting artist at Newcastle University in the UK; and an artist-in-residence at the Arteles Creative Center in Finland and the Tsarino Foundation in Bulgaria.

I'm a photographer working with digital and film processes. I make pinhole cameras and use them along with similar techniques in my creative practice. I sometimes make videos, too. I'm often inspired by the natural environment and like to consider the ways we collectively understand, use, and preserve the land. Occasionally, I'll point my camera elsewhere. I'm currently working on a short documentary film about Dutch linguist, Thomas Milo.
